•A pipeline explosion

A pipeline explosion has occurred at Etekwuru community in Ohaji Egbema Local Government, Imo State.

The public Relations Officer of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Chimeziri Lowell said the explosion occurred in the early hours of Tuesday.

Lowell further said the explosion was caused by hoodlums who were involved in oil bunkering activities in the community.

The State commandant of NSCDC, Raji Ibrahim alongside his team are on their way to the community to thoroughly access the environment.

It is not yet clear if there are casualties. (The Guardian)
