A former House of Representatives Committee Chairman on Reformatory Institutions, Hon. Lazarus Ogbee, has congratulated the Ebonyi State Governor, Chief David Umahi, on his conferment as the Best Governor 2019 by the Business Day newspapers.

Ogbee, who represented Ezza South and Ikwo Federal Constituency, noted that the award was an eloquent testimony of the governor’s track records, sterling leadership qualities and prudent management of the lean resources that accrue to the State Government.

In a statement in Abakaliki, the Ex-Lawmaker stressed that though the award was not a surprise to him, but it would also remain a precursor and motivation to perform more.

Ogbee noted that Umahi’s landmark achievements in infrastructure and human capital development stood him out as a proactive and visionary leader who has prepared himself to offer qualitative leadership to the people.

He mainatained that the award remains a collective pride of Ebonyi people and indication that the state can never be relegated to the backward again where essential amenities are scare but as the neatest and finest city in the country.

According to Ogbee, “Ebonyi State has become a reference point in the federation. Many people talk good about the good development in Ebonyi State. The Administration of Governor David Umahi has changed our story and history for the Best. Since Umahi came on board, Ebonyi State has witnessed unprecedented transformation in all the sectors. I therefore make bold to say that the award was not a surprise to me or anyone who have had glimpse on the revolution in Ebonyi State under Governor David Umahi.

“The award is apt and bears eloquent testimony on the giant strides and transformation in Ebonyi State. There’s no community in Ebonyi State that has not more than two projects of the State Government.

“The completion of fly over bridges, urban and rural roads, electricity, Ecumenical Centre, the ongoing construction of an International Airport, ultramodern Olympic stadium and Teaching Hospital among others can’t be forgotten in a hurry. The beautification and esthetic quality of the Abakaliki capital city has become a centre for tourism and attraction to all.

“We are proud of you, our Governor, for making Ebonyi state proud at this time of our nation’s history. With the award, Ebonyi State and her citizens have been honoured, reverred and uplifted. I am mostly pleased to be part of this your success stories.”

Ogbee further commended Ebonyi people for their consistent support while urging the governor to use the award to consolidate on his achievements.
