Obi mourns Nnewi Parish Priest, says death sad

Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Peter Obi, has mourned Rev. Fr. Edmund Nwagbala, the Parish Priest of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church Nnewi Ichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The priest, about 60 years old, perished in the fire which gutted the parish in the wee hours of yesterday, Saturday, November 16, 2019.

Reacting to the news of the tragic inferno, Obi, the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, said he was “deeply saddened by the death of Fr. Edmund Nwagbala”.

He expressed his condolences to Bishop Hilary Okeke, the priests, as well as members of Nnewi Diocese over the loss, while praying to God to grant Fr Nwagbala eternal rest.
