The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, has commended the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, for appointing another of its members, Ibraheem Musa, as the new Special Assistant on Media and Publicity.
A statement on Wednesday by the State Council Secretary Femi Adi said the appointment and that of Samuel Aruwan, former Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity as Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, are attestations to their hard work and dedication to service.
The statement described Musa as a humble and quintessential journalist, who has over the years demonstrated the ability to work under pressure during his days as Reporter, Bureau Chief and Editor at New Nigerian Newspapers; Daily Trust Newspapers, Blueprint Newspapers, New Telegraph Newspapers and other established media houses.
“We are not in doubt of his capacity to meet up with the high expectation of public service and desire of Governor El-Rufai to make Kaduna great again.
“While we assure him of our support to succeed, we quite acknowledge that his appointment is a round peg in a round hole,” Kaduna NUJ said.
The union advised the new appointee and his lieutenants in the Media Department of the Governor to work closely with NUJ Kaduna Council, especially in media relations and publicity of government activities.
