All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers State, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, has unveiled his campaign theme barely days after he was chosen as consensus candidate to fly the party’s flag in next year’s election.
He is promising “A Greater Rivers State for You and me!” and has adopted “Greater Together” (“We are Greater Together”) as his campaign theme.
This was reflected in Peterside’s message released in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, to mark the International Day of Disabled Persons.
Personally signed by him, the message appears under Peterside’s photo, with a crowd of Rivers people in the background, and the bold inscription #GreaterTogether. A roadmap of wealth for Rivers State. At the top left is the APC logo besides that of GreaterTogether.
It reads as follows: “Today, we remember in a very special way, our brothers and sisters who face physical and mental challenges of varying degrees. Our world definitely, would have been different and undeniably incomplete without them. For that reason, we celebrate them for making the world inclusive and complete.
“But we must also ponder on a day like this! How much of equal opportunities, rehabilitation, love and above all, prevention of disabilities have we encouraged in our different worlds as individuals and groups? There could not have been a better time to advance the rights of persons with disabilities. Therefore we need to activate our sense of appreciation and sympathy as we join the rest of the world in marking this day. This obligation should shape our thoughts and actions today and beyond. We are Greater Together.”
