Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Thursday commiserated with the family of former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Emeritus Adeoye Adeniyi, calling his death the end of an era.

The governor also condoled with the University of Ilorin and the academic community over the death of Adeniyi, a Professor of Pediatrics and Child Health who was the fourth VC of the institution.

The academic who died at the age of 95 served as the VC of UNILORIN between 1985 and 1992.

“Prof Adeniyi left behind a legacy of being a distinguished patriot whose contributions to national development, especially in the education sector and child care that was his forte,” according to a statement by AbdulRazaq’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye.
