It is rather disturbing how the former Special Assistant on Social Media to former President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has condescended to the despicable level of using gutter language on the change elements that democratically dethroned his principal. More worrisome is the fact that he is a pastor and lawyer.
One should have expected this man who has constituted himself into an ignominious internet troll to address issues in his opposition. But alas! that is not Reno Omokri. Rather he, like an adult playing with toys, often resort to the fallacy of argumentum ad hominem - evading the topical engagement to an abuse to the person.
Goodluck Jonathan's administration was whirled by official sleaze and covetousness, reminiscent of the Biblical scenario of Hosea 9:9, which reads: "They have sunk deep into corruption, as in the days of Gibeah. God will remember their wickedness and punish them for their sins."
Today, God is punishing them through the sheriff, President Muhammadu Buhari. Still, Omokri could not see anything wrong with the government he served and, sadly, he is stopping at nothing to deride God-sent messengers, who rescued Nigeria from the claws of the Augean stables.
By so doing, Reno Omokri reminds one of Shimei, son of Gera and devotee of King Saul. For clearer understanding, see 2 Samuel 16: 5-8:
"When King David came to Bahurim, there came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera, and as he came he cursed continually. And he threw stones at David and at all the servants of King David, and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left. And Shimei said as he cursed, ‘Get out, get out, you man of blood, you worthless man! The Lord has avenged on you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose place you have reigned, and the Lord has given the kingdom into the hand of your son Absalom. See, your evil is on you, for you are a man of blood.’"
Can you relate?
Reno Omokri is going mad against PMB and his change-agents because dem remove food from him table! If not, why would he not hide his head in shame that he was a part of the pillage of the common patrimony of the long-suffering Nigerians, as witnessed by the humongous jaw-dropping fraud that characterised the government he served and today defending to the point of insanity?
For a lawyer and pastor to descend to the level of paranoia and blindly refusing to see anything good in the genuine efforts being made by President Buhari to reinvent Nigeria and put her on the path of real development, truly convinced me that he is losing his mind and needs psychiatric help.
