A civil rights organisation, Save Lagos Group (SLG), has petitioned the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), anti-graft agencies and other related institutions, including National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on the plight of Nigerians working in Victoria Island, Lagos based Lebanese Company, CARTERTAINMENT, seeking urgent intervention and justice for the victims.

Also fingered as culprits in this work victimisation are two other companies, BEAMCO Nigeria Limited, Kofo Abayomi Avenue, Apapa, Lagos and ECLAT Properties Limited, located at Ijaiye Road, Ogba, Lagos State.

It noted: “The SLG as a Non-Governmental Human Rights Organization (NGO) that always protect the fundamental rights of the citizens, most especially, Lagosians at home and abroad, formally requests your good offices to effect the arrest of all these aforementioned suspects without any further delay, before they send the victims to their early grave.”

The group alleged that the three companies had engaged in barbaric way of dealing with the Nigerian citizens working with the companies before and currently, describing the companies as notorious, wicked, satanic evil and fraudulent in Nature, adding that all their actions were against the labour law and rule of engagement in the country.

It raised the allegations of fraudulent practices, slave trade, women trafficking and indecent assault against the management of the Companies, alleging that the companies were also threatening the lives of innocent citizens who had entitlement to be collected from them and this made the group to develop interest in the matter and as well write the security authorities in the land for necessary action in order to prevent any breaking down of law and order in Lagos State.

The allegations are contained in a letter signed by the Convener of the group, Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman, dated Thursday, 1st of August, 2019, titled, “Petition against Mr Mazin Lebaniz with Phone number 08033051888, Mr Akintunde with Phone number 08023712268, Mr David with Phone number 08138134724 and other top management of CATERTAINMENT Company, Management of BEAMCO Nigeria limited and ECLAT Properties Limited”, which copies were made available to newsmen on Sunday.

According to the petition, the complainants against CATERTAINMENT Company are; Sister Mary Idiata, Nwaedozi Deborah, Ugbala Ogechi, Emmanuel Akpan, Ramoni Abidoye and many others and Mr Abass Adeoti and Mr Oladipupo Sholeye Ajani complained against BEAMCO Nigeria Limited, while Mr Taoheed Adekunle Oladapo lodged a complaint against ECLAT Properties Limited.

It further stressed that the peaceful complaint by the group to the security agents was necessary for the amicable resolution of the matter, before mass action if the authorities of the security operatives failed to prevail in the matter.

“In view of the indubitable fact that the jungle rule of delusive demagogues and desperadoes are being satanically entrenched in the aforementioned three companies, the companies are intentionally served as a bait to trap the unsuspected Nigerians like their aforementioned victims. They have subjected Nigerian workers in these Companies to labour slavery, degradation and maltreatment of the highest order,” SLG said.

The group, therefore, called for a credible, unbiased and thorough investigation by the security agents in the subject matter so as to unravel the wickedness of the alleged suspects.
