An ailing man, Mujaheed Adebesin, who said he was a classmate of Femi Otedola, the renowned businessman and philanthropist, has appealed to the former Chairman of Forte Oil PLC and also the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Femi Hamzat, whom he also claimed to be his school son, to come to his aid by assisting him out of his ordeal.
He also appealed to his employer, the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, to assist him to overcome his battle with prostate cancer.
Adebesin, who is currently on bed rest at a private medical facility in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital said he was the classmate of Otedola in Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo, in 1980 and wants him to help him.
According to him, the Lagos State Deputy Governor was in close contact with him until recently when he couldn’t get him on phone anymore after his swearing in as Deputy Governor.
The 56-year-old Civil Servant in the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission said all efforts to get Otedola has proved unsuccessful and calls made to his private mobile number had been on voice mail.
When asked to convince our reporter of the acclaimed relationship with Otedola, the emotional Head of Department, Planning Research and Statistics in Ewekoro Local Government showed a text message where he quoted the nickname both were calling each other back in school.
While narrating his ordeal with the ailment, Adebesi who was in tears said he started nursing the disease since 2015, alleging that the situation was mismanaged both at the Federal Medical Center, Abeokuta and Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital.
He said, “It started in November 2015 when I couldn’t urinate normally, I reported at FMC and I was treated but the problem with FMC is that when you go from morning, it might not be your turn till evening.” (Daily Independent)
