Kano Economic City takes off in December

Barring any last-minute change, a multi-billion Naira Kano Economic City under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement, located at Dangwauro town along Kano–Zaria Federal highway would officially take off in December this year.

The Economic City is a joint venture between the Kano State Government and Brains and Hammers company under Public Private Partnership.

Mr. Afolabi Muhuyiddeen , the  Field Engineer told Governor Ganduje who visited the site on inspection, said “all things being equal the First phase of this project will take-off by December 2019. And we are doing our best to make this a reality.”

Engineer Muhuyiddeen revealed that they were in touch with the leadership of Kano markets, whose activities have a direct connection with the new global economic city, adding that there is a high commitment of anticipated patronage from the merchants

The field engineer disclosed that there are Ten Thousand (10,000) shops in the market, adding that Phase One consists of 38 world standard warehouses, 280 Trailer Parks spaces, Inland Container Land (ICL) with 200 Trucks capacity spaces and 202 Trucks Parking Spaces among others.

Other amenities include 43 Grain Silos, 4 filling stations, space for large-scale industries for processing leather, meat, and other identified commodities.

Pharmaceutical spaces are also provided in the market for drug marketers, while hospitals are also part of the structures being erected in the market for easy access to the healthcare delivery system. Similarly, the economic city boasts of police stations. (Independent)
