A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in the November 16 governorship polls in Bayelsa, Dr Franklin Osaisai, has promised that his campaigns would be violence-free as he is driven by passion for service.

The aspirant, who condemned the violence riddled politics in the country, challenged other governorship aspirants to shun violence and desperation as power comes from God.

He promised to consolidate on the laudable and ambitious projects of linking the coastal communities to the state capital by road by completing the road projects.

Osaisai, a Nuclear Scientist who spoke in Yenagoa to supporters during the inauguration of his campaign office on Friday, noted that having committed the race to God, there was no need to resort to other means to get power.

His words: “I started the race with God when I declared my intention before God, today we are inaugurating this building by dedicating it to God. Our campaigns shall be issue-based and violence-free.

“We are focused on the party primaries and I am optimistic we shall be victorious because ours is a mission to serve and we have the competence to bring development and relief to the people.

“I am a rural person and each time I travel through the waterways from Yenagoa to Koluama where I come from, I spend over two and half hours. The people deserve a safer and faster means of transport.”

Osaisai, a former Director-General, Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, said that his priorities would include addressing the power supply challenges to allow small businesses to thrive if voted into power.

He said that he would also invest a substantial part of the oil revenue to non-oil sources to ensure that the state survives when the oil reserves dry up.

Clergymen, associates and friends of the aspirant witnessed the inauguration of the campaign office located along Isaac Borroh Expressway in Yenagoa.
