The Save Lagos Group (SLG) has urged the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to stop playing God over the plan to appoint the immediate past Governor of the State, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, into the yet to be constituted cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Reacting to the recent statement credited to Senator Bola Tinubu which has been on the media for a while now that he would resign his (Tinubu) membership of APC if President Buhari nominates Mr. Ambode as a ministerial nominee from the State.

In a signed statement by its convener, Comrade Adeniy Alimi Sulaiman, and copies were made available to newsmen on Tuesday, SLG said that Senator Tinubu has turned himself to Alpha and Omega of the State nay Nigeria politics, forgetting that only God gives and takes power and no human being can act like God.

The group quoted part of the statement credited to Tinubu that, “Ambode tried to destroy the party in his first term apart from not being accessible, he revoked contracts belonging to the party members and brought in his own companies.”

SLG maintained that all the ideas of Tinubu in the political firmament of the State and Nigeria was parochial and self serving.

Appraising Ambode, the group disclosed that Ambode is more qualified than Tinubu because Ambode is educationally qualified to hold any position, including Minister in the country, because he doesn’t have any “Chicagogate” allegation on his educational qualification like “Mr. Godfatherism”.

He therefore urged Buhari to appoint former Governor Ambode into his cabinet without further delay so as to bring credibility to his second term in office.
