Two drivers attached to First Bank PLC, Awka branch, have been arrested by police detectives attached to the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) for conspiring to kidnap their branch manager, Chinwe Ezenwa.

The suspects, Izuchukwu Nebolusa, 33, and 35-year-year old Simeon Obiakor were arrested at about 8:15pm on Sunday at Jesus Estate in Oba, Idemili North LGA of Anambra State.

A statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, said that suspects threatened to kidnap their branch manager through anonymous text messages that they will kidnap her unless she pays two million Naira to them.

He said that suspects were triangulated and subsequently arrested after sustained intelligence with the aid of modern technology.

According to him, the duo have confessed to the crime and the SIM card used in sending the threatening massages to the complainant has also been recovered in their possession even as case is under investigation after which Suspect would be charged to court for prosecution.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police (CP) Mustapha Dandaura has implored the public to be wary of their close aids including domestic staff and do a thorough background checks before employment them in order to avert this kind of ugly situation.
