Kano State Police Command has arrested 140 suspects in connection with the various crimes allegedly committed across the state.

Parading the suspect, the command commissioner, CP Iliyasu Ahmed told reporters that the arrest is part of the ongoing operation Puff Adder meant to neutralise crime in the commercial city.

This is coming barely two weeks after the state government commenced a security awareness program and the installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras across the state.

Recall that during his inaugural speech, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje assured the people of Kano state that the safety of their lives, property and businesses will be the main focus of his administration.

His statement comes few days after the state government flagged-off security awareness seminar phase 1 in Karaye Local Government.

On the occasion, the governor urged all security agencies in conjunction with traditional institutions to put hands together in ensuring that peace is sustained across the state. (Channels TV)
