Many feared killed as bandits attack three local govts in Katsina

Many persons were feared killed as armed bandits attacked several communities in Dan Musa, Faskari and Batsari local governments areas of Katsina state. Multiple sources told our reporter that the bandits attacked the places while riding on motorcycles, killing several unsuspecting persons in the process. In Sabon Layin Galadima area of Faskari LGA, the bandits attacked at about dawn with locals putting the death at 11 persons. However, the police spokesman in the state, SP Gambo Isah, said information before the police showed that only one person was shot in his face adding that he is alive and receiving medical attention but admitted that animals were rustled with only one person injured too. Five persons were reportedly killed on Tuesday morning at Mara Zamfarawa village in Dan Musa LGA with many animals rustled. Locals say the bandits attacked farmers working on farmlands also. In Yar Gamji village of Batsari LGA, the bandits attacked on Tuesday afternoon as people run for safety. Locals say so far, ten persons have been killed. As at the time of filing this report, the police command is yet to respond to enquiries made on the other two incidences. (Daily Trust)
