The Super Eagles are now in Catalunya (Catalonia), Spain, chilling ahead of tomorrow’s top-grade friendly against a Catalunya selected side that is expected to feature several stars of mighty Barcelona.

Catalunya is an autonomous community of Spain, with the official status of a nationality. “Catalonia,” according to Wikipedia, “comprises four provinces: Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona. Its capital and largest city is Barcelona, the second largest city in Spain after Madrid, and the center of one of the largest metropolitan areas in Europe. Catalonia covers an area of 32,114 km² and has an official population of 7,535,251.”

“Wednesday’s friendly match against Catalonia selected that is managed by Dutch legend Johann Cryuff will be played at the home of La Liga side, Espanyol and the time of the game is 8:00pm Catalunya time, which is 9:00pm Nigerian time,” said Super Eagles’ Media Officer, Ben Alaiya, in a statement.

Alaiya disclosed that the Super Eagles would jet out to Catalunya from their pre-Africa Cup of nations camp in Faro, Portuguese, at 5am local time today, which is 6am Nigerian time. He said that the team would have lunch in Catalunya and train on New Year day at about 7:15pm, that is 8:15pm Nigerian time.

The Eagles will return to Portugal after the match to continue preparations for the tournament holding Jan. 19 to Feb. 10 in South Africa.
