The abducted Chibok schoolgirls have NOT been released by Boko Haram, News Express can report this evening.

A source at the Defence Headquartes in Abuja minutes ago refuted the report making the rounds to the effect that 71 of the Chibok girls have been driven into the headquarters of the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri under tight security.

The source told News Express: “The story circulating in respect of the release of the Chibok girls is not true, please. The buses that drove into the barracks were conveying other individuals.”

This was confirmed by DHQ, which just tweeted: “The Story circulating in respect of release of the #Chibok girls is untrue. Buses drove into the barracks but conveyed other individuals.”

Boko Haram terror group had on April 14 abducted an estimated 276 girls from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibiok, Borno State, in north-eastern Nigeria. Dozens escaped, but more than 200 are still missing.
