Okorocha relocates Imo Poly, appoints VCs, others

 Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has directed the relocation of Imo Polytechnic, Umuagwo to Ehime Mbano, with a campus at Ahiara and another at the Imo State University of Medical Sciences.

A statement issued yesterday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, disclosed that the decision followed the establishment of the Imo State University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at the polytechnic’s premises.

Also, the governor appointed Professor Peter Akanwa as the Vice Chancellor of the University and Reverend Father Wenceslaus as Chairman, Governing Council.

Others are Imo Polytechnic, Ehime Mbano with Dr. Kingsley I. Ekechukwu as Rector and Innocent Eke as Chairman, Governing Council, while Bishop Shanahan Polytechnic, Orlu has Professor Aloysius Onyeka as Rector and Dr. Uche Ejiogu as Chairman, Governing Council.

Besides, he also named permanent secretaries, ministries of finance, agriculture and tertiary education as members of the governing board.

Others members are Chinyere Uwandu (Owerri), Emma Nwosu (Okigwe) and Chief Festus Anwiagu (Orlu). (The Guardian)
