Senator Danjuma Goje, ex-Gombe Governor, arrested and detained

Former Gombe State Governor Danjuma Goje was yesterday arrested by the police in Gombe, according to a report from the state.

“Goje, who is a serving senator, was arrested by the Gombe State police commissioner Mohammed Abubakar who detained him for some hours,” reports LEADERSHIP.

Goje, according to the newspaper, was visiting his local government, Akko, when he was arrested by the ComPol Abubakar “without any formal charge.”

It is not yet clear what offence Senator Goje committed to warrant his arrest.
