The Anambra State Police Command has assured residents of Anambra State that this year's Easter period, like the previous ones, would be celebrated peacefully.

To ensure this, the Command has prepared an elaborate operation order which will effectively cover all places of worship, recreation centres, public buildings, flashpoints, black spots and other vulnerable areas in order to ensure adequate protection of life and properties in the state.

A statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Haruna Mohammed, warned individuals or groups desiring and planning to truncate this noble intention to desist forthwith as any breach of the public peace will attract full wrath of the law.

While wishing all Christians a happy and peaceful Easter celebration, the state Commissioner of Police, Mustapha Dandaura, enjoined them to use the period to pray for sustainable peace in the state and nation at large.

The statement added: “The public is assured of our commitment to ensure safety and security before, during and after the Easter period.”
