Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State on Friday inaugurated a 12-member Governing Council for the relocated Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia.

At the event, which took place at the Governor’s Office Conference Hall, he charged members, chaired by Ambassador Adesola Isiaka Abolurin, to ensure that they live up to the high expectation of government and the people.

“Our administration knows the importance of education and that is why when we came on board, it took priority and we made it free for the primary and secondary students, while we have subsidised our tertiary education,” he said.

He described members of having proven track records, which made them fit for membership of the pioneer council.

Abolurin, in his remarks, promised to bring to bear his expertise and great knowledge for effective running of the institution.

He pledged the council’s loyalty to achieve the set goals, calling on all stakeholders to come together to strengthen the institution to become a great citadel of learning.
