A pressure group, the Adamawa Collective, has moved against the governorship ambition of former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, warning that imposing him as governor on the state would certainly backfire.

The group in a statement made available to News Express likened Ribadu to ousted Governor Murtala Nyako, whom it described as a big failure.

The statement entitled ‘Imposed People Are Usually Failures! Adamawa People Strongly Reject Nuhu Ribadu a.k.a Nuhu Nyako The Undertaker’, reads as follows:

“Murtala Nyako, the impeached and runaway former Governor of Adamawa State, the one and only Deputy Chief of Defence Staff in the history of Nigeria – a position created for him by Military President Ibrahim Babaginda to rescue the Navy from Nyako’s incompetence. General Olusegun Obasanjo had also removed Nyako from office as Military Administrator of Niger State after only 9 months.

“Murtala Nyako or Murtala Ribadu has dug the grave for the burial of Adamawa State, by his sheer incompetence and maladministration and nepotism.

“Nuhu Ribadu or Nuhu Nyako a.k.a The Undertaker as EFCC Chairman was a failure. He was overwhelmed because he is reportedly lazy and lacks capacity for hard work. He woefully failed Mr. President when he was asked to determine and verify all petroleum upstream and downstream revenues (taxes, royalties, etc) due and payable to the Government. He back-passed it to the Government.

“By the way, who is funding his campaign that he can hire Private Jets, dash out more than 100 Cars and donate N20 Million? All hail Mr. Anti-Corruption!

“The people of Adamawa State say NO to IMPOSITION.

“Reject Hassan Tukur, the PPS to MR. PRESIDENT, who is lying with the name of Mr. President in his agenda of imposing his business partner, Nuhu Ribadu, as the next Governor of the State.

“Beware of Adama Mu’azu, the PDP National Chairman. He imposed his father-in-law, Aminu Maigari, on the NFF; the result is the mysterious burning down of the NFF with the return of Maigari.”
