Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, have reportedly abducted the Enogie (Duke) of Ukhiri community in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. ‎

The gunmen were said to have stormed his Ukhiri palace along Benin-Abraka road, shot sporadically in the air before whisking him away.

It was learnt that the gunmen came in an unregistered car which they reportedly set ablaze and made away with a Nissan sunny car belonging to the Enogie who is said to be a retired Chief Superintendent of Police.

He took over the dukedom after the death of his father some years ago.

Spokesman of the Edo State Police Command, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, could not be reached for comments but a dependable police source said a crack team has been raised to rescue the Enogie.
