Rap mogul Suge Knight is believed to be undergoing surgery after being shot “multiple times” at Chris Brown’s pre-VMA party.

The hip hop boss, 49, was among three victims who were injured after shots were fired as Rihanna’s ex hosted the bash and album launch at West Hollywood nightclub 1Oak at 1.30am on Sunday.

The 25-year-old singer was uninjured, but Marion ‘Suge’ Knight was shot in the stomach and arm.

He walked out of the club unaided after violence erupted before being spotted by police and taken to hospital. He is now thought to be having surgery, but is expected to make a full recovery.

The others hurt were said to be a man and woman, aged 19 and 32.

This is not the first or second time Suge Knight is escaping death in a shooting incident. He was also shot in the leg at a pre-VMA party in 2005 hosted by Kanye West and was in the driver’s seat of the car rapper Tupac was travelling in, which was blasted in bullets in September 1996 during a drive-by shooting. Tupac later died from his injuries.

The suspected gunmen from Sunday’s incident were apprehended by police and officers confirmed at least four shots were fired inside the club and a possible fifth outside.

Armed officers surrounded the venue as frightened guests spilled out of the club onto the street with their arms in the air.

A video, believed to be shot on a mobile phone, also shows the aftermath of the shooting inside the venue and a man can be heard shouting at revellers to “get down”.

In the shocking footage, hundreds of party-goers are seen cowering on the floor of the club as singer Chris waves his arms around frantically after climbing onto a bar.

The reveller who filmed the disturbing scene shared the video and wrote on Instagram: “Just experienced a shooting in #1Oak #LA Suge Knights was shot and this is #ChrisBrown going nuts afterward. Notice the bouncer screaming to get down.”

The controversial star, who escaped without injury, was later filmed making a quick exit as he drove away from the club in his red Lamborghini and fans can be heard shouting after him.

He later tweeted: “It’s disappointing that we as a society can’t have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bulls**t!!!”

Police cordoned off the surrounding area before quizzing those who were at the glamorous bash, which was also attended by Justin Bieber, model Tyson Beckford, The Game and Apple de Ap from The Black Eyed Peas.

One female party-goer left the club covered in blood and hit out at 1Oak on Instagram for not searching guests for weapons when they arrived.

The unnamed girl wrote: “1oak thanks for not checking and patting folks down. U let people bring guns in ur club.”

Clubber Katie Clendon also took to Twitter after being left shaken by the incident and posted: “Literally can’t believe what I just witnessed. Someone tried to fire shots at Chris Brown at 1oak. Speechless.

“Prayers to all those who were harmed by this. Honestly still in disbelief this happened.”
