Makinde in early lead in Oyo governorship race

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Oluseyi Makinde, took an early lead as the results of Saturday’s election in the state started trickling in last night.

He easily won his polling unit, 001, ward 11 of Ibadan Northeast Local Government with 165 votes to the 71 votes scored by his closest rival.

Also, the candidate of Action Democratic Congress (ADC), Olufemi Lanlehin, who stepped down for Makinde, won his polling unit in Ibadan Northwest, Ward 8, Unit 2, where PDP polled 136 votes to the 68 votes won by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
