Ten members of the Super Eagles family are conspicuously missing from the list of players invited by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the double header Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Congo and South Africa.

The list released yesterday does not contain the names of Victor Moses, Osaze Odemwingie, Brown Ideye, Sunday Mba, Ejike Uzoenyi, Shola Ameobi, Reuben Gabriel, Michael Babatunde and Bright Dike. The Super Eagles, the reigning African champions, are without a coach following delay in renewing the contract of Coach Stephen Keshi, which expired in July after the World Cup. It is not yet clear who will take charge of the team.

Hull City’s Omatsone Aluko gets his maiden invitation. The list also features five home-based players, namely, Chigozie Agbim, Azubuike Egwuekwe, Kunle Odunlami, Gbolahan Salami and Christian Osaguona.
