A Lebanese man died Friday after setting himself on fire to protest his difficult economic circumstances, according to local media reports.

Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported that the incident had occurred outside a school in the village of Bkeftine in northern Lebanon.

The man, who has not been identified, reportedly took the fateful decision to set himself alight after he was unable to pay his daughter’s school tuition.

According to the NNA, the man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he quickly succumbed to his injuries. (Anadolu)
