Ono (ni) yen
We sat down to watch as the movie unfurled,
“Executive ’ciary” became so uncurled.
They say, and I quote, that “the man had some gold”,
Our Gov’ment and Co, were all left in the cold.
“This man, you get this? – you no utter one word.
I see, – you’ve been sitting, and playing the Lord”.
“Hey, y’all in CC, please haul in this guy,
And make sure he swims in deep vat oil to fry”.
Presto – All those ‘silks’ who wear cotton, at most,
Emerged from the closet, such deep throated ghosts.
“He’s one of ours, – listen, you can’t go that route, ’cos we’ll fight every inch, it’ll bear you no fruit”.
Meanwhile, our “Ono” meekly mooted to those,
that fuelled his presence, personal and close.
“Those assets, dey hear me, didn’t know they were there,
so what’s all the fuss, let me be in the clear”.
Baba niyen woke up, and summoned “the Law”.
“See to it the Jurist is kicked through the door”.
Like magic – A Gov’ment that scorns court orders,
Got one overnight. He was cannon fodder.
The cast were bewitched, then the drama began.
The woodwork ’came rife with the “Attorney clan”.
“Due process”, “NJC”, “Exparte” were words,
and the pith of the issue, turned us to “Word Lords”.
And so, the story goes on all the way,
One Nation, so strident, it’s causing a fray.
Some day, by the grace, we’ll all be in the clear,
To build up our country, and make it so dear.
