The Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Ibadan Branch, Dr. David Ajiboye, has advised members of the public to disregard the rumour making the rounds on a purported strike soon to be embarked upon by the union, saying it is far from reality.
Dr. Ajiboye gave the reassurance when approached for comments on the issue yesterday at the Induction Ceremony of the 2012/2013 UI engineering graduates.
The ASUU Branch Chairman, who was an invited guest at the event organised by the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) at the Faculty of Technology Large Lecture Theatre, had this to say: “Of course, there is nothing like that. I don’t know where people got this information from. And I don’t think lecturers are complaining that they don’t want to work. What I can say is, the rumour is just very far from reality.”
