A new outfit that has as its aim the developing of young and talented artistes in various fields of the performing arts has been launched with a bang in Benin City. The company, Synergy Expressions, had its inaugural ‘Open Mic’ event recently in the Edo State capital where some young dancers, singers, comedians and spoken word artistes performed to the delight of a parked audience in the city centre.

The major brain behind Energy Expressions is Mr. Noah Momodu, who is the CEO of the company. Momodu was the one who helped develop the recently deceased Branama Queen Kefee. He tells News Express that the aim of his outfit is to spread the gospel through entertainment and to challenge much of the vulgarity that is prevalent in the entertainment industry in Nigeria today.

“Synergy Expressions hopes to produce entertainment artistes who would use their talents to spread the word of God,” says Momodu. “It is important that I stress that there’s nothing wrong with secular entertainment ordinarily. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of immorality which pass for entertainment these days, and we want to show that one can be a top and successful performing artiste through the medium of gospel entertainment.”

Mr. Momodu is supported in the Synergy Expressions project by his graceful wife Jean-Paul Momodu and another gentleman Teanu Teejay.

On how young performing artistes can climb up the ladder in their chosen careers, Mr. Momodu stresses that they should not only be talented performance-wise, but also know how to manage their progress rather than thinking that they can easily find help from external sources.

Synergy Expressions, according to Momodu, is inter-denominational and young artistes interested in gospel entertainment are free to come hone their skills there.

Judging from his success with Kefee of blessed memory, the future looks bright for young gospel entertainers who link up with Synergy Expressions.
