The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 23 suspected cocaine pushers in Kano State within the last month, the agency’s commandant in the state.
Alhaji Ibrahim Abdul, the state commandant of the NDLEA disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the agency’s achievement under his watch in the state.
He said 20 of the suspects out of the 23 arrested were not indigenes of the state but from the southern part of the country and that they were all arrested in Sabon Gari axis of the state, adding that the successful arrest was part of the agency’s effort to check drug abuse in the state.
He added that, 86 suspects were also arrested by the command within the last one month, with different types of illicit drugs weighing 1.4 tons were seized.
The state NDLEA commandant revealed that the command was making all necessary arrangements to arraign the suspects before the court for prosecution.
