The Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land, Chief Gani Adams, has warned against inflatration of the fulani herdsmen into any part of Yorubaland.
He vowed to protect the area with the last drop of his blood.
Speaking against the backdrop of killing and abduction of staff and students of the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke on Tuesday evening by people suspected to be fulani herdsmen, Chief Adams who spoke through the Osun State Coordinator of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) Prince Adedeji Aladesawe, expressed resentment at killing of innocent people for no just cause.
It would be recalled on Tuesday evening, some people suspected to be herdsmen stormed the country home of late Chief Bola Ige, Esa-Oke killed a staff and abducted no fewer than ten persons.
Four of the abducted persons have been rescued by the police while another are still missing.
He said that Yoruba territory is as important to him as blood flowing in his vein assuring that he would all within his capacity to protect lives and property of his kinsman.
While condemning the killing of staff and abduction in the school, Adams said that killing in the southwest by unknown gunmen is unacceptable to him and stressing that he will soon summon stakeholders meeting in his capacity as Aare Onakakanfo to discuss how such dastardly act can be prevented.
He however charged sons and daughters of the Yoruba to be calm and assured that, invasion of outsiders to claim innocent lives would soon be a thing of the past in the Yoruba kingdom.
Prince Aladewase however warned evil perpetrators to stay away from the territory and also charged them to be civil in their acts.
Meanwhile, the death of an employee of the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-oke,Olaniyi Emmanuel whose life was callously terminated by alleged Fulani herdsmen at Esa-oke of Oriade local government of the state three days ago has thrown the faculty of Education of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-ife into a mourning session as the deceased was one of its graduating post graduate doctorate degree students for this December convocation programme.
The deceased who graduated from the institution for the 2015/2016 session said to be a committed and dedicated student throughout his schooling period in the school.
Speaking with newsmen on the death of the departed soul,the Head Of Department of the Faculty, Dr. Yemi Adediwura described his death as a big blow to the faculty and prayed to God to give the affected family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Dr. Adediwura who while commenting on the deceased death, referred to him as a serious student with auspicious life while in the faculty.
According to him,” We sympathize with the affected family, the Faculty of Education, his department, Educational Management and the institution as a whole and we pray to God to give him eternal rest in the blossom of Christ.”
