Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly is right now under siege as a combined force of Police, Army and Civil Defense has taken over the entire Assembly complex barring even the Assembly staff from gaining entrance.
News Express source hinted that the plot is purportedly to enable the five sacked Assembly members overthrow the speaker, Rt. Hon. (Barr) Onofiok Luke in order to install Hon. Nse Ntuen, the preferred candidate of APC, as the new speaker.

This, according to the source, might also be the reason behind the abrupt redeployment of the former Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State by the Inspector General of Police, Idris Abubakar.

It will be recalled that News Express broke the news when hoodlums suspected to be agents of APC violently occupied the Assembly complex last week, but the lawmakers later found their way into the chambers followed by the unseating of the five members who recently defected from PDP to APC in the state.
