The Kano State Police Command has arrested 12 suspects in connection with various crimes committed across the state.

Public Relations Officer of the Police Command, SP Magaji Majia, told journalists that six vehicles and N1.7 million were recovered from them.

Majia, a Superintendent of Police, explained that the development followed the launch of a special operation targeting various criminal hideouts across the 44 Local Government Areas of the state.

During the process, the police nabbed the gang leader, Yahaya Alhassan and two others linked to the six stolen motor vehicles.

According to him, various weapons were also recovered in the course of the arrest.

Also, a suspected member of the Shiites sect in Kano State, Abba Usman, was arrested for conspiring with a dismissed police officer who promised to enlist him (Abba) into the Force.

Upon interrogation, the police spokesman stated that Abba was meant to pay N150,000 for the promised offer while two other suspects were arrested for raping a housewife.

Majia stated further that the suspects would be charged to the court upon the conclusion of the police investigation.
