Igbo leaders are currently meeting in Enugu, political capital of Igboland, to discuss the political future of the race.

Indications are that the meeting, holding at the Conference Hall of Nike Lake Resort, will climax with the endorsement of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential ticket of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi for the 2019 polls.

The meeting, chaired by iconic constitutional lawyer and elder statesman, Prof. Ben Nwabueze, has in attendance Igbo leaders and representatives from the five core Igbo states (Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi and Imo) as well as the Igbo-speaking pars of Delta and Rivers states.

News Express, which is on ground to cover the meeting, reports that Atiku and Obi are expected to make an appearance.

Among the expected highlights of the meeting is a keynote address by an international scholar, Prof. Chudi Uwazuruike, and the release of a communique by eminent lawyer, Prof. Olisa Agbakoba (SAN).
