The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2019 polls, Chief Great Ogboru, will be defeated by the incumbent Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) even in his local government.

Delta State Governor’s Aide on Media, Mr Ossai Ovie Success, made this declaration during an interview with journalists on Tuesday in Asaba, the state capitaI.

According to him, “The greatest mistake made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) is the choice of Chief Great Ogboru as governorship candidate.

“The achievements of the Delta State Governor, Sen Ifeanyi Okowa, in Chief Great Ogboru’s local government, Ethiope East, have diminished his popularity.

“As at today, Ogboru cannot even win a Students Union Government (SUG) election in Delta State University Abraka, not to talk of governorship election in Delta State.

“The truth be told, Ogboru has never won an election in Delta State since he ventured into politics and 2019 won’t be different because he is embarking on already lost battle.”

Ossai noted that Okowa “is not just a governor but a governor of inestimable value who has constructed over 250 roads, empowered over 40,000 youths, built schools, hospitals, bridges, etc, despite financial challenges.”
