Police begins search for kidnapped Lebanese in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the suspected kidnappers of a Lebanese national around the Tudun Wada area of the state. 

Confirming the incident, spokesman for the command, Magaji Majia, said the construction worker was snatched by gunmen at about 8 am on Saturday, November 10.

Eyewitnesses told Channels Television that the Lebanese engineer, known as Mr. Ameer had been supervising construction work on the Kano to Plateau expressway when gunmen stormed the site.

They reportedly shot dead a police officer attached to the victim, before abducting him.

Meanwhile, the police in Zamfara State have confirmed the rescue of a four-year-old child and arrest of three persons in connection with his kidnapping.

In a statement, the Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Muhammad Shehu stated that the suspects had earlier collected a ransom of one million naira from the relations of the child.
