The Presidential Candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his deputy,  Mr Peter Obi, have continued to get the backing and support of the people and leaders  of the south east zone following the recent nod it received from the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing and Anambra Leaders of thought.

The Anambra  Leaders of Thought in a congratulatory message signed by the group’s chairmen and secretaries in the three geo-political zones in Anambra State to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, expressed delight on Atiku's choice of Obi as his running mate and vowed to leave no stone unturned to ensure their victory at the poll.

The chairmen – Prince Leo Uchendu (Anambra central and former PG of Umuawulu), Chief Peter Nwagu (Anambra North) and Hon Charles Nwangwu (Anambra South) – said the duo of Atiku and Obi would surely recover the battered image of Nigeria and take the country to the next level.

“While we thank Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for his choice of our son, Mr Peter Obi, as his deputy, we want to let him know that Obi is efficient and effective and a true nationalist.

“Your wise choice draws all of us immediately on board. The team is formidable and holds great promise for the regeneration of our battered nation with all hands on deck and we assure you of our support,” the group said.

Similarly, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo (Youth Wing), Anambra State Chapter, has also congratulated Atiku on the landmark victory at the just concluded primaries and his choice of Obi as his running mate.

Their letter signed by the Ohanaeze Youth leader,  Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, and his secretary,  Mazi Ifeanyi Ezesinachi, said that Atiku had genuine commitment in his restructuring mantra by choosing somebody from South East as his deputy.

“The PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar has by this stride, earned our respect and we have automatically keyed into your vision.

“Our mentor and role model, His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi, is an excellent team player, one who has the passion and capacity to turn issues and circumstances around for good.

“We give our thanks to God for your foresight and pledge a renewed hope in our dear nation and rekindled energies to work tirelessly for success at the polls,” they said.
