Lady Monica Ada Chidinma Eze an aide of Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, has chided those she described as “political opponents” of the Governor “imputing erroneous insinuations to the position of the Governor over the nomination of Chief Peter Obi as the Vice Presidential candidate to the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar.”

Lady Eze, the founder and President of the NGO David Umahi Nweze Akubaraoha Ebonyi Transformation Agenda (DUNAETA), “notes with sadness that many of the commentators misfired on the statement by the Governor that the South East Governors and PDP leadership in the region were not consulted or approached before the public announcement and presentation of Chief Peter Obi as the Vice Presidential candidate of PDP in the 2019 general elections by the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar”.

She stressed in a statement issued on Monday in Abakaliki, the state capital, the Governor Umahi “has nothing against Peter Obi as he is a personal friend to him.”

Lady Eze, a.k.a Ada Ebonyi, explained that her principal is not opposed to Atiku’s choice of Obi but only spoke in his capacity as the Chairman of the South East Governors Forum to complain that the governors were not consulted before the choice was made and announced.

The DUNAETA President cautioned against abusing Governor Umahi over the issue, assuring that the issue would be amicably settled to enable PDP go into the 2019 elections as a united house in a bid to liberate the country from the hands of President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
