Greenlife Pharmaceuticals Limited, sponsors of Rising Star Writing Competition & Awards, has promised to offer bigger and better sponsorship package for the competition. Mr. Ebuka Chukwuka, Executive Director, Sales and Marketing of Greenlife Pharmaceuticals Limited, at a press conference in the company’s head office on October 11, 2018, said that Greenlife Pharmaceuticals Limited shares the goals and objectives of Rising Star Writing Competition & Awards and are poised to make the competition bigger, better and effectively help children develop their creative thinking and writing skills.

Also, speaking also at the press conference to announce the result of the third edition of the competition, Mrs. Amaka Nwosisi, Head of Human Resources and Public Relations, said that Greenlife Pharmaceuticals Limited, as a leading pharmaceutical company in Nigeria, is a very good corporate citizen that takes seriously the philosophy of giving back to the society through well structured Corporate Social Responsibility programmes. She reiterated the company’s commitment to sponsoring the Rising Star Writing Competition and making it bigger and better. Mr. Derrick Osondu, the National Sales Manager of Greenlife Pharmaceuticals Limited congratulated the winners in this year’s edition as well as the organisers of the competition. He reiterated the importance of helping Nigerian children develop their creative thinking and writing skills. Miss Chiamaka Ibeh of the Human Resources and Public Relations department of the company, in her “vote of thanks” also congratulated the winners and organisers of the competition, assuring that Greenlife Pharmaceuticals Limited shall be fully represented at the Awards Ceremony on the 24th of October, 2019 at Annes Luxury Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Mrs. Uche Udoji, Chief Executive Officer of The Writers Corner, on behalf of the organizers of the writing competition, while announcing the result of the third edition to the press, observed that the competition which was flagged off on December 3, 2015, has now grown bigger and better - with more entries, more participating schools, more winners and more prizes. “Unlike in the previous editions, the entries are now judged separately along the genres - poetry and short story. This automatically doubled the number of winners and the prizes won”, she said. Mrs. Udoji also called on parents and teachers to help and encourage their students and wards improve their writing skills. Mr. Ike Ezugwu, Managing Director, Vuvuzela Communications Limited, one of the organisers of the competition, thanked Greenlife Pharmaceuticals Limited for their continued support for the project. He explained that the choice of venue for the press conference (Greenlife Pharmaceuticals Limited’s head office) is a show of appreciation for the company’s continued support for the project. Mr. Ezugwu also urged the members of the press to support the project by giving the competition wide coverage in the media.

The results announced shows that in the Senior Category, Snow George of Starville Schools Abuja and Ofomata Chinyere Stephanie (16 years old) of Louisville Girls College, Ijebu-Itele, Ogun State, won the First Prizes in Poetry and Short Story respectively. Jailyn Nsofor (9 years old) of Corona Schools, Lagos won the First Prize (Poetry) in the Primary Category while Demilade Olaere of Livingspring Schools, Lagos won the First Prize (Sort Story) in the Junior Category.  The result is as follows:
