PDP Diaspora Initiative has expressed concern over the safety of its members living in the southern East Coast of the United States in the wake of Hurricane Florence, a monster tropical storm which as at Sunday morning had left nine people dead.
The authorities have since issued a mandatory evacuation order for more than 1 million people living in the areas that are expected to take a direct hit from the hurricane.
“I can relate with the fear, concern, worry, anxiety and uncertainties people are feeling right now,” Founder and National Chair of the PDP Diaspora Initiative, Hon. Victoria Pamugo, said in a statement e-mailed to News Express.
“Let’s all pray for God’s protection for our members and all the people in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and other affected parts of the U.S.,” she said.
PDP Diaspora Initiative is a US-based registered non-profit organisation composed of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from all parts of the world, including Austria, Canada, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and United States of America.
