The new National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki, is highly principled and would resign if there is deception and lack of sincerity on the side of the Jonathan administration towards overcoming the nation’s security challenges.
Disclosing this yesterday, his friend, Alhaji Mustapha Jokolo, former Emir of Gwandu, told the Hausa Service of the Voice of America (VOA): “What I know is everything depends on the atmosphere. If they want him to work sincerely and with the fear of God, and to be just to all and sundry, there is no doubt he will do it. But if they want him to commit injustice, cheat and do things that are unethical, he will not accept it.”
The Abuja-based Blueprint newspaper which monitored the report also quoted Jokolo as saying: “I have known him for more than forty years. He met me in NDA (Nigerian Defence Academy) in 1972 because I came in 1971. He was a course mate of his predecessor Azazi, and Col. Are, the former DG of SSS. We used to go out to his father’s house.”
Col. Sambo, who succeeds Gen. Owoeye Azazi, assumed duties yesterday.
