The Queen of Hunters in the North-East, Mrs Aisha Bakari, on Friday, lauded the efforts of the Nigerian military toward restoring peace in the North-East.

Mrs Bakari made the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Acting General Officer Commanding, 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Brig.-Gen. Bulama Biu, at the Maimalari Barracks in Maiduguri.

“The present efforts by the military high command at reaching out to all stakeholders and collaborating with hunters have in no small measure bolstered me and our members to do more in contributing toward ending insurgency in our region.

“I found it necessary to come and specially thank you for finding us worthy partners in the task of fighting insurgency in our region and the country.

“We must commend the Nigerian military for the success stories so far achieved in the war against insurgency in spite of the numerous challenges,” she said.

Responding, Biu extolled the bravery and courage of Aisha Bakari in the counter insurgency operations.

“I want to assure us all that, the Nigerian Army will do all it can in ensuring that it bequeaths to the unborn generations of Nigerians a very peaceful and harmonious nation they would be proud of.

“This insurgency and all other security challenges in the country will surely come to an end as the Nigerian Army will definitely fulfill its core mandate, but everyone must get involved,” he said. (NAN)
