Security has been beefed up at Nigeria’s Presidential Villa, Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, as former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, and the #BringBackOurGirls coalition intensify preparations for a historic march to the Nigerian leader’s fortress to demand the rescue of the over 200 students of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, abducted by Boko Haram terrorists on April 14.
Both the Presidency and the Police were informed in advance but have refused to approve the march.
Using her Twitter handle @obyezeks as her main weapon, Ezekwesili has been psyching up members of the coalition, who have been told to gather in their red attire at the Unity Fountain, Abuja by 2:30pm. The protesters are scheduled to set out for the Presidential Villa by 3pm.
Below are some of Ezekwesisli’s latest tweets, some of which are being retweeted by her mainly youthful followers:
“When CITIZENS UNITE as WE have n STANDING 4 our #ChibokGirls and DEMANDING our GOVT to #BringBackOurGirls it means “GO BEAT DOWN the ENEMY”!”
“When I read tweets that SUGGEST we SHOULD take our CRY to TERRORISTS & NOT our GOVT I smh 4 IGNORANCE. Our CONSTITUTION tells US who-GOVT!!”
“In preparations yesterday 4 TODAY’s MARCH to d Villa, our AbujaFamily members of #BringBackOurGirls are LOOKING to MEET with our C-in-C.”
“WE who KNOW the benefit of CITIZENS ENGAGEMENT with those that GOVERN US also KNOW how IMPORTANT it is that our PEACEFUL MARCH be RESPECTED.”
