Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has directed the immediate resumption of work on Enyimba Shopping Mall, Aba.

The State Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Umuahia, the state capital. He said that the Governor’s action followed “the successful resolution of the dispute over ownership of Etche Road Field Aba, where the proposed Enyimba Shopping Mall is located.”

The project is being promoted by a private firm, Checkbest International Limited.

“The Government wishes to express appreciation to the parties for submitting to peaceful and amicable settlement and call on the developer to ensure that the ultra-modern mall is realised within the time agreed with the Public-Private Partnership and Investment Office of the Government,” Okiyi said.

He disclosed that the “Abia State Government has issued a certificate of occupancy to the St Joseph Parish of the Catholic Church, Market road Aba, and assigned a new property to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Etche Road by East Aba, for the development of a new school.”
