The Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board says a total of 2,555 pilgrims from the state are now airlifted to Saudi Arabia for the 2018 Hajj.
About 3,200 intending pilgrims are expected to perform the exercise from the state this year.
A press statement issued by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Yunusa Muhammad Abdullahi, in Kaduna said that only two flights remain to complete the airlift of intending pilgrims from the state.
He said so far, 1,683 males and 872 females were transported to holy land by the two airlines engaged by the board for airlift of the state’s pilgrims.
Abdullahi explained that Med-View Airline had transported 928 intending pilgrims while Max Air had transported 1,627 pilgrims in three flights each
He assured the remaining pilgrims will be airlifted in a few days.
“Med-View airline had delivered 1,600 5 litres of Zamzam water to the state which would be distributed to the pilgrims after their return journey from Saudi Arabia,” he said.
