Following the unwarranted siege of the National Assembly Tuesday which many have described as barbaric and undemocratic, the Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, is currently meeting with former military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, a Wednesday evening dispatch by PRNigeria newswire said.

The siege by operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS) led to the immediate sack of the Director-General, Alhaji Lawal Daura, by Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

Though the exact details of the meeting are yet to unfold, close sources told PRNigeria that Saraki might have consulted the latter for direction on the way forward, “just as IBB and many other past leaders have in the recent past become very critical on the current administration’s lack of direction in handling both economic, political and social issues bedeviling the country,” the report said.

It would be recalled too that IBB overthrew the Buhari military administration in 1984.
