Minister of Labour and Employment, Sen. Chris Ngige, has said that he won’t be able to inaugurate the members of the re-constituted Boards of Parastatals and Agencies under the supervision of his Ministry within one week.
This is sequel to the ultimatum issued by the Chairman, All Progressive Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole to ministers to inaugurate all the boards in their ministries within one week.
In a letter addressed to the party Chairman, Ngige noted that ordinarily, he would not have believed the letter came from the Comrade Chairman, except for the barrage of media statements that came before the letter adding that he read the contents of the letter with both amazement and utter disbelief.
He explained that it was not true as contained in the letter that he refused/neglected to inaugurate Members of the re-constituted Boards of Parastatals and Agencies under the supervision of his Ministry as alleged in the letter.
He explained that an Administrative and Financial Panel of Enquiry was instituted with a Presidential approval as a follow – up to the criminal investigations adding that it was followed by a House of Representatives Committee on Labour and Employment probe in March 2018 which is still ongoing.
