Gunmen abduct Chinese national in Zamfara after asking for interpreter

Unidentified gunmen abducted a Chinese national identified as Ren Dajun in a bush near an Irrigation Scheme in Amumu village in Bakura local government area of the state.

The foreign expatriate is a Staff of Chinese Geological Cooperation, located in Birnin Tudu Village of Bakura local government area.

The gunmen stopped the moving vehicle of the Chinese national and asked for his interpreter. They then ordered the Chinese to get out of the vehicle and then whisked him away on motorbikes.

The police spokesman in the state SP Muhammad Shehu said the command's Search/ rescue team and Anti-kidnapping Squad had embarked on coordinated bush Combing with a view to rescuing the victim hale and hearty, and also to arrest the assailants.

He advised the general public to be conscious of their security and report strange or suspicious elements in their areas.
