Kwara soon to commission completed projects — Dr Ahmed

Kwara State Government will soon commission major road projects in both Kwara South and Kwara North senatorial districts of the state.

According to the State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed, while inspecting on-going projects in Ilorin yesterday, the projects would be commissioned in the next few weeks.

Gov Ahmed explained that the road projects include: include Maigida-Arobadi road in Moro Local government area, Lafiagi township road in Edu local government area, Ipetu-Rore-Aranorin road in Irepodun local government, Share-Oke-Ode road in Ifelodun local government, Anilelerin road in Offa local government among others.

The Governor, who explained further that his government is committed to bridging infrastructure gaps in the state with a view to making life more meaningful to the citizenry,  expressed satisfaction over the ongoing Spilt Diamond Underpass at Gerin Alimi, the dualisation of Sango/ University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital road and Coca-Cola bridge in Ilorin.

Gov Ahmed said the purpose of the inspection was to get value for the taxpayers' money with which the projects were being undertaken.

According to him, “I’m so impressed with the level of work done. The contractors handling the projects really adhere strictly to specifications and are committed to the job to ensure they are delivered on schedule.”

Dr Ahmed said that state government embarked on some of the projects in order to ease vehicular movement across every part of the state and to ensure easy transportation of farm produce to the markets.

The Governor who pledged to continuous timely release of funds to contractors handling various projects across the state emphasised that with the special fund window tagged Infrastructure Developments Fund (IF-K), all projects embarked upon by his government were destined for completion.
